BlackRock introduces Multi-Asset Portfolio Construction through hands-on training.
To the great pleasure of ELTE GTK’s students, the multinational investment company, BlackRock, joined the Business Simulations and Case Studies course again this semester. The two-day intensive course took place on the faculty’s premises on 21 and 25 November 2025, and the programme aimed to provide students with practical and interactive exposure to real-world investment decision-making through simulation-focused learning. All 40 GTK students who participated in the event demonstrated consistent engagement and interest throughout the course, contributing actively to discussions and activities.
The course aimed to strengthen students’ financial literacy, deepen their understanding of risk awareness and support more informed investment decisionmaking. Its practical approach, using realworld examples and case studies, effectively reinforced these goals. Students were introduced to key concepts in financial asset management, including diversification, interest yields, expected returns and the relationship between these factors and their associated risks, ensuring the objectives were successfully met.
The simulation featured a comprehensive exercise in which students analysed financial data, evaluated investment options and managed virtual business scenarios to build a well balanced portfolio of financial assets. These activities allowed participants to apply classroom concepts in a realistic, simulated market environment. Working in teams further enhanced the experience, strengthening collaboration and contributing to a productive and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.
The course successfully developed the students’ understanding of investment concepts and strategies, and the participants demonstrated improved analytical thinking, communication and collaborative decision-making.
The interactive format kept the students fully engaged and encouraged their critical thinking, with students commenting: “...we were constantly encouraged to ask questions, debate decisions, and think critically about each step of the portfolio construction process”.
The course proved truly beneficial and was extremely well received by its participants. We hope that the Business Simulation programme continues in future semesters to inspire the faculty’s ambitious and bright students.
We are immensely grateful to BlackRock for their training!
